Rain to Resource – A Story of Water, Work, and Resilience

Rain to Resource – A Story of Water, Work, and Resilience

Konsai Village, Rajasthan

Konsai Village had long battled acute water scarcity due to erratic monsoons and falling groundwater levels.

In March 2023, PHD Rural Development Foundation, with the support of Coca-Cola India Foundation, launched the Rain to Resource initiative to restore water security through community-led solutions. A check dam was constructed, enabling the capture and storage of nearly 21 million litres of rainwater.

As a result, 35 hectares of agricultural land were brought back under irrigation, benefiting 331 households. Three wells were recharged, with groundwater levels rising steadily from 5 feet (2023) to 30 feet (2025). This revival transformed farming outcomes—average farm income increased from Rs. 1 lakh per acre to Rs. 2–3 lakh per acre.

Today, Konsai stands more water-secure, climate-resilient, and economically empowered.
