To commemorate World Water Day, 15 check dams were inaugurated in Wada, Maharashtra on March 20, 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening local water resilience.

This impactful initiative has been made possible through the support of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited, in collaboration with PHDRDF Rural Development Foundation. We sincerely acknowledge and thank the organisation for its commitment to sustainable water conservation and community development.

The inauguration was graced by the Hon’ble Member of Parliament for Palghar, Dr. Hemant Vishnu Savara, who also interacted with members of the local community. Representatives from Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited, along with PHDRDF team members were present.

The 15 check dams, constructed during 2025–26, have created a water storage potential of 631,365 cubic meters. This intervention is expected to benefit 7,359 people, support irrigation across 464 acres of agricultural land, and raise groundwater levels by 8–12 feet, ensuring water availability for irrigation until April.
