In a significant step towards strengthening girls’ education, the upgraded Ramgopal Khanna Girls Senior Secondary School was inaugurated on April 28, 2026, in the presence of Dr. Artika Shukla, Collector & District Magistrate, Alwar, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The school has been upgraded and refurnished with the support of PHD Rural Development Foundation (PHDRDF), New Delhi.
The enhanced infrastructure includes a fully equipped science laboratory, a modern computer lab, and smart classrooms along with smart content designed to promote digital and experiential learning. The school also features an upgraded library to foster a culture of reading and lifelong learning. BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) paintings have been incorporated to transform school spaces into interactive learning environments, along with the provision of new desks and chairs to improve classroom comfort and functionality. The entire school building – including classrooms, doors, and windows – has been refurbished and repaired, and the main gate has also been upgraded, enhancing both aesthetics and accessibility.
The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 500 girl students by creating a more engaging, inclusive, and conducive learning environment. It aims to improve enrolment and retention rates, while enhancing the overall quality of school experience and learning outcomes.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Artika Shukla appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of investing in quality education for girls. The event was also attended by Mr. Anil Khaitan, Chairman, PHD Rural Development Foundation; Mr. Manoj Sharma, ADPC, Board of Education; Mr. Sanjay Choudhary, Chief Executive, PHDRDF; along with members of the PHDRDF team.
